PRESS: Yandex service Yandex.Zen starts working in Vietnam, Turkey

MOSCOW, Apr 3 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet company Yandex has agreed to add its personal content feed Yandex.Zen to browsers Coc Coc in Vietnam and Opera in Turkey and does not rule out creation of a platform for authors in other countries, business daily Kommersant reported on Wednesday.

Yandex.Zen General Director Dmitry Ivanov told the daily Yandex had signed a contract to embed the service in a mobile and Web browser of Vietnamese company Coc Coc. The deal was signed in February for several years with a possible prolongation. The Vietnamese company will pay Yandex a share from sales of advertisements.

Investments to enter the Vietnamese market could be recouped within a year, Ivanov said.

Coc Coc was established by Russian businessman Viktor Lavrenko and develops a search system and an advertising platform as well. Its monthly audience is at 24 million users.

Yandex.Zen’s audience was at 40 million users in March, and the service is available in more than 100 countries.

Ivanov also said that Yandex.Zen was incorporated into Opera in Turkey in late March. Unlike Coc Coc, Opera does not have its own platform to sell advertisements, and revenue that the partners will share will be generated by different advertising systems. Yandex also pays Opera for distribution of the service.

Yandex.Zen plans a range of similar deals on integration of the service into products of foreign partners, and some negotiations are already under way.
